At Hairy Henry Therapeutic Riding we run Halloween sessions on 30th and 31st October with halloween games on and off the horse, wear your costume on horseback, hunt for your halloween goodies bag by riding the pumpkin trail, and lots more!
To book a session, contact Sandra on 087 9389867 Winnie received a big hug from our new rider Aenna last Saturday - and Aenna received a rosette...because hugging (a Hairy Henry or a Wise Winnie) helps to put a smile on your face!
During the festive season, Henry and Winnie make use of their skills as draft horses and help us do carriage tours through Bantry and Skibbereen. As a reward for their hard work on a Sunday, they get plenty of healthy 'tips'!
This is a great activity to include the whole family, and feedback from everyone was very positive - I guess it's just so rare for people to see horses out and about like this - and our horses being so friendly and sociable as they are, made many new friends. We are very happy that we helped to bring some smiles on people's faces. Whether to chill out with the horse or to have a little fun race...we can cater for each individual's needs. That's why we talk to the carer/parent and try out a variety of different things in an initial session - our priority is to meet your/your child's needs, and we will tailor-make a session plan around these.
Once in a while, it's good to take some time out and have an adventure. Winnie and I took this to the extreme this year and crossed the Burren in Co. Clare!
We came back refreshed and inspired - and eager to be able to offer our riders opportunities to go on small adventure themselves! So we have extended our Nature Trail onto a wonderfully overgrown 5-acre field full of wildlife, bird song, quiet spots in the sun and grand views. We hope that the dry weather will last a little longer so that as many of you as possible can have an adventurous trip out before winter sets in.... |
