Hairy Henry Garden
The garden at Hairy Henry's is going into its third year now!
By working in this garden, we want to guide visitors throughout the seasons, and we want to share and promote the great joy that gardening can bring. We usually grow a mixture of flowers and vegetables - all with the aim to produce something that all at Hairy Henry's can enjoy:
Pollen and nectar for the bees and butterflies, sunflower seeds for the wild birds and field mice, swedes, parsnips, carrots, fodder beet and cabbage for the horses, donkeys. sheep, rabbits and pigs, and Bob the dog who likes vegetables, too!

The garden gives everyone the opportunity to join in to grow something amazing from soil and stable manure, to get their hands stuck into the rich ground, to admire the progress nature makes despite the grey wet weather we often have.
We make gardening part of the session plan, whereever appropriate and suitable. A lot of visitors are hugely proud of producing something in the garden that can be harvested and fed to our animals here!
