This course is aimed at persons with additional learning needs who have an interest in farming and horses in particular. It aims to provide a solid introduction to this area of interest, and aims to prepare participants to possibly take up further training opportunities, volunteering or paid employment in this area. It also offers hands-on practical experience and equips participants with vocational skills in this area in a safe and supportive environment.
More specifically, the course promotes:
- learning of new skills
- gaining confidence in a new area of work
- inter-personal skills such as communication skills, sense of commitment and responsibility, reliability

The training group will be small (6 participants maximum), and special attention will be given to everyone's particular learning style and pace of learning. There will be visual as well as written hand-outs for each training session. Every week, there will be an opportunity to recap and practise contents from previous weeks.
